Chinese cabbage 'Garnet' produces large, long, green leafy heads. Chinese cabbage can withstand a light frost and is sensitive to seepage. Sowing thinly on site is the best method.
Chinese cabbage requires nutritious, moist soil that is not too acidic. The best method is sowing in June and July. Maintain a row spacing of 40 cm and thin the row to 30 cm. Earlier sowing carries a greater risk of cracking. The harvest falls in October, November.
